The 2018 Oklahoma Derby weekend celebrating Remington Park's 30th birthday is done and dusted but as one final look back, we’re examining the pedigrees of the 10 stakes winners on the card. While some of the winners are the standouts of their family, there are a few very recognizable names among the pedigrees of the winners. Shakin It Up Kip Deville Stakes – B. B. Dude was Shakin It Up’s first stakes winner earlier this year. One of six named foals out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Purrfect Song, he is also one of four winners from five to race from the mare. Purrfect Song is also a three-quarters sister to multiple Grade 1 placed Santa Catarina (Unbridled) and half-sister to Grade 2 Sanford Stakes second Power World (Distorted Humor). The favorite was Stupify (Twirling Candy), who had won his previous start at the track and was a $110,000 2-year-old purchase in April. But it was B. B. Dude (Shakin It Up), his freshman sire’s first stakes winner in August who added another stakes victory to his resume with a late charge that got him the win over Fast Breakin Cash (Yes It’s True) by a neck.
